Hi, my name is Jacob Sherman, and I have a goal of visiting every country in the world. I’ve been into traveling ever since I was a young boy. I was lucky enough to have parents with jobs that allowed them to travel with me and my older brother every summer, all across America!
It became tradition to start counting our states visited, and from the time I was in elementary school I wanted to turn that into every country. By the time I was only 10 years old, I had already been to over half of the US states. I ended up making it to 50 by age 19. At that time, I only had visited 2 countries outside the US: Canada and Australia. Now, that number has bloomed to nearly 20.

I graduated with a degree in anthropology, and while I am not currently pursuing any related jobs, it has allowed me to see the world in a new and unique light, which has shaped the way I look at places and people. I’ve learned that some of the best experiences happen off the beaten path – when you slow down, talk to locals, and stay curious. You might stumble along the way, but you will find hidden gems and amazing people.
On Diamond Travels, you will find a mix of personal stories and guides from around the world. These are honest experiences – no sugarcoating here. I try to get a sense of what countries are really like, rather than just the tourist side of things. I also write articles such as clear budget breakdowns to help you plan for your own trips, as well as useful tips and hidden gems to visit.
For my personal interests, I especially love historical destinations and archaeological sites, and have a love for different languages – though I only speak a bit of Japanese. I also like to collect currency from around the world. My favorite travel quirk is visiting McDonald’s locations in as many countries as I can!
Oh, and thank you for being here! I’m excited to share all my adventures with you, present and past, as I learn how to become a blogger. I will make mistakes along the way, but I’m ready to take this journey and present what I learn as I go! And I hope to convince you to come with me, leave your bubble and explore – there’s a big world out there, so let’s check it out!
